In a development that’s turning heads in the anti-aging community, tech mogul Bryan Johnson has announced what he describes as a remarkable victory in his personal war against hair loss, claiming to have reversed both balding and greying by an impressive 70 percent.

The science behind the transformation

Johnson, 47, who gained prominence through his ambitious age-reversing experiments, recently shared his journey from impending baldness to what he calls “luscious locks” in under a year. Despite being “genetically bald” according to his family history, the entrepreneur claims to have achieved significant hair restoration through a comprehensive approach combining nutrition, topical treatments, and light therapy.

“Many lose up to 50 percent of their hair before they even realize it,” Johnson warned his followers on X, advocating for early intervention in hair loss prevention.

Johnson’s method

Johnson’s hair restoration protocol includes several key components:

• A targeted vitamin regimen focusing on protein and Omega-3 fatty acids
• Personalized topical treatments featuring melatonin, caffeine, and Vitamin D3
• Red light therapy combined with protective headwear
• Low-dose oral minoxidil treatment

Regarding the latter, Johnson emphasized caution, noting that higher doses can lead to unwanted side effects including headaches and excessive hair growth in unintended areas.

Beyond hair restoration

This announcement comes on the heels of Johnson’s recent revelation about undergoing a “total plasma exchange” (TPE) procedure. During this process, his blood plasma was completely replaced with albumin, a natural protein-based substance that aids tissue growth and repair.

“The operator, who’s been doing TPE for nine years, said my plasma is the cleanest he’s ever seen. By far. He couldn’t get over it,” Johnson reported.

Background

Johnson’s journey into biohacking began after his successful exit from the tech industry, having sold his company Braintree Venmo to PayPal for $800 million in 2013. Since then, he has dedicated his resources to pushing the boundaries of human longevity and biological optimization.

The tech entrepreneur’s latest claims add to his growing portfolio of anti-aging experiments, though medical experts continue to debate the effectiveness and safety of such intensive interventions in the natural aging process.
