After weeks of speculation, pop sensation Lana Del Rey has reportedly married her boyfriend, Jeremy Dufrene, a local alligator tour guide. The wedding took place in Louisiana, ending ongoing rumors about their relationship.

Marriage license filed in Lafourche Parish

According to records obtained by the BBC, the couple applied for a marriage license on Monday in Lafourche Parish, located just south of New Orleans. The 39-year-old star, whose legal name is Elizabeth Woodridge Grant, used her birth name on the official document. The license, valid for one month, was signed off by a court clerk, confirming the pair’s intent to wed.

A Bayou wedding

Reports from People magazine reveal that Del Rey and Dufrene didn’t wait long to tie the knot. The couple exchanged vows on Thursday in Des Allemands, Louisiana, near Dufrene’s workplace as a boat tour operator. According to the report, both the ceremony and reception were held in the same bayou where Jeremy operates his swamp boat tours. People, citing a source close to the couple, shared the unique setting as an intimate backdrop for the wedding.

A love story born in the Bayou

The couple’s relationship reportedly began in 2019, when Del Rey took part in one of Dufrene’s swamp tours. The singer shared photos from the tour on her Facebook page, writing, “Jeremy, lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours x.” Since then, the pair have maintained a low-profile relationship but were recently spotted together at high-profile events, including the Reading and Leeds music festivals this past summer, where Del Rey was a headliner. They were also seen together in London.

Lana Del Rey: Pop icon and enigma

Lana Del Rey first rose to fame in 2011 with her self-titled debut album and breakout hit single “Video Games.” Over the years, she has become known not only for her music but also for cultivating a glamorous and enigmatic public persona. The singer-songwriter has released nine studio albums to date, with her latest release, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, receiving widespread acclaim and earning a nomination for the prestigious Album of the Year Grammy Award.

Who Is Jeremy Dufrene?

Jeremy Dufrene, Del Rey’s new husband, has taken a less conventional career path. According to his biography on Arthur’s Air Boat Tours website, Dufrene previously worked at a chemical plant but decided to pursue a different calling. “After a little convincing by his family, he got his captain’s license and started running tours,” reads his bio. The company praises Dufrene as “a great airboat captain” who loves interacting with both wildlife and customers.
