Gettysburg, PA – Dan Rivera, a 54-year-old paranormal investigator and U.S. Army veteran, died unexpectedly on Sunday night after completing a sold-out stop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as part of the “Devils on the Run Tour,” which featured the infamous Annabelle doll.

Rivera, known for his appearances on the Travel Channel’s Most Haunted Places and as a producer on Netflix’s 28 Days Haunted, was found unresponsive in his hotel room just hours after the tour wrapped. Emergency responders were dispatched following a call reporting CPR in progress, but Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene, The Evening Sun reported.

Dan Rivera: Cause of Death Unknown, Investigation Ongoing

The New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), where Rivera served as lead investigator, confirmed his death in a statement Monday. “His exact cause of death remains unclear,” the group said. Authorities stated that the incident does not appear suspicious, though an official investigation is underway.

The Origins of Annabelle

The Annabelle doll was first given to a nursing student in Connecticut named Donna in the 1970s. After reporting bizarre occurrences, a psychic medium claimed the doll was possessed by the spirit of a six-year-old girl. The Warrens, however, concluded it was demonic in nature.
