Musk reportedly approached Tiffany Fong to have his child as part of his plan to combat global population decline

Tiffany Fong, a cryptocurrency content creator and self-described “reluctant crypto journalist,” is back in the spotlight following a report from The Wall Street Journal that claims she rejected a personal proposal from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to have his child. Musk allegedly reached out to Fong after following her on X (formerly Twitter) last year.

The proposal was reportedly part of Musk’s widely publicized ambition to father a large number of children, particularly with individuals of what he considers “high intelligence”—in a bid to address what he has often called the “crisis of population collapse.”

Fong declined Musk’s alleged offer, telling friends she preferred a more traditional family structure, the Journal reported.

Who is Tiffany Fong?

Born on March 19, 1994, in Las Vegas, Tiffany Fong graduated from the University of Southern California in 2016 with a degree in journalism and mass communication. Her LinkedIn profile details a range of internships during college, spanning public relations, creative marketing, and research roles.

She rose to online prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic after investing $200,000 into Celsius Network, a cryptocurrency lending platform that later filed for bankruptcy. Her viral YouTube video titled “Celsius Network: I LOST $200,000” garnered over 85,000 views and marked her entry into the crypto commentary space.

Key div in FTX whistleblowing

Fong gained further recognition for her reporting on the collapse of FTX, the crypto exchange once led by Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF). While SBF was under house arrest, Fong interviewed him multiple times and was granted access to over 200 pages of confidential material, including notes and drafts about Caroline Ellison, SBF’s former romantic partner and a key prosecution witness.

Some of these documents were later shared with The New York Times, contributing to Ellison’s portrayal in court and drawing significant attention to Fong’s role in the saga.

Musk’s “high intelligence” baby plans draw scrutiny

The Wall Street Journal report situates Musk’s alleged proposal to Tiffany Fong within a broader narrative about the billionaire’s ambitions to father a “legion” of children with intelligent partners. Musk, who already has 11 known children, has long expressed his concern over declining birth rates in advanced economies and views increased reproduction among high-IQ individuals as a possible solution.

Fong’s unexpected involvement in this story underscores the strange intersection between tech culture, cryptocurrency influencers, and billionaires with unconventional goals, adding yet another chapter to her already unconventional rise in digital media.
