American streamer IShowSpeed never imagined that a routine city tour in Chongqing, China, would turn into an internet sensation. But that’s exactly what happened when his local guide unexpectedly launched into a pitch-perfect impersonation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a now-viral video, Speed is visibly stunned as his guide points out local landmarks in fluent English—before slipping into a voice that left him speechless.
“Why do you talk like that? Why do you sound so familiar? You sound like Trump!” Speed exclaims, eyes wide with surprise.

The man behind the viral moment is Chen Rui, a Chongqing local who goes by the English name Ryan. Online, he’s better known by his Instagram handle @trumpbyryan, where he boasts over 342,000 followers.
According to the South China Morning Post, Chen is a marketing professional who has never set foot in the United States. Despite that, he has spent years mastering Trump’s distinctive cadence, tone, and mannerisms—often practicing English and uploading impersonation videos to Douyin, China’s version of TikTok.
His fame began rising after the U.S. cracked down on TikTok, pushing some viewers toward alternative global platforms where content like his thrived.

The internet, of course, wasted no time weighing in. One viewer joked, “Bro is Trump more than Trump himself,” while another marveled at the impersonation, commenting, “That voice alone is incredibly accurate. Not just the inflections, tone, and speed, but the voice itself sounds like Trump. Unreal.”
One user quipped, “China surely has copies of everything,” and another wrote, “The fact that he’s doing it in his second language is so crazy, and he has every detail down is so incredible.”

Perhaps the most unexpected comment of all: “Looks like if Kim Jong-un and Trump had a baby.”
This surprising crossover of American political parody and Chinese tourism isn’t just entertainment—it’s a fascinating glimpse into how cultural icons transcend borders. For IShowSpeed, it was a one-of-a-kind tour. For Chen, it was a global spotlight moment years in the making.
And for viewers? A reminder that you never know when or where the next viral moment will come from—sometimes it’s waiting in the back seat of a tour car in Chongqing.
