Jerusalem: A vehicle rammed into pedestrians in northern Israel on Thursday, in what authorities are calling a suspected terror attack. According to medics, at least seven people were injured, with one in critical condition.
Israeli police confirmed that a suspicious vehicle was intercepted, and a suspect was apprehended near Karkur Junction, south of Haifa.
“There is suspicion that this is a terror attack. Police forces successfully intercepted a suspicious vehicle, apprehending a suspect suspected to be responsible for the ramming,” police stated.

Paramedic Avi Cohen described the situation in Pardes Hanna-Karkur, a town south of Haifa, as chaotic. “When we arrived, they were lying on the ground. We immediately began providing medical treatment to all the injured, including stopping bleeding and bandaging wounds,” the AP reported, citing Cohen’s statement from Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency rescue service.
Emergency responders from Magen David Adom said they were treating seven injured individuals at the scene, including one person in serious condition, while others sustained moderate-to-severe injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have increased security measures in the area.
