The internet is abuzz with wild speculation after TikTok videos resurfaced two obscure 19th-century novels that seemingly “predicted” Donald Trump’s return to the White House and hinted at the rise of his youngest son, Baron Trump. These novels, written by American author Ingersoll Lockwood, have ignited a wave of online intrigue, with theories ranging from uncanny coincidences to claims of time travel and prophetic foresight.

Obscure 19th-century novels resurface

The books at the center of these speculations are Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey (1888) and The Last President (1896). Long forgotten by mainstream literature, they have gained newfound attention following Trump’s re-election as the 47th president of the United States. Social media, particularly TikTok, has become a hotspot for theories linking the books’ fictional narratives to real-life events involving Trump and his family.

Key details fueling speculation

In Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey, the protagonist, Baron Trump, is depicted as a young aristocrat living in “Castle Trump.” Guided by a mentor named “Don,” Baron embarks on fantastical adventures through magical portals, including one in Russia. The character’s full name, Wilhelm Heinrich Sebastian Von Troomp, has been pointed out as a striking nod to the Trump family’s German ancestry.

Meanwhile, The Last President paints a picture of political turmoil following the election of a populist leader. The book describes protests erupting in New York City, with demonstrators storming Fifth Avenue—the same location where Trump Tower now stands. The parallels between these fictional events and Trump’s polarizing political career have captivated conspiracy theorists online.

Social media reacts: Coincidence or prophecy?

The TikTok videos exploring these connections have amassed millions of views, with users split between fascination and skepticism. “The similarities are too specific to be a coincidence,” one commenter claimed. Others dismissed the theories as creative interpretations of fiction, asserting that the book’s content reflects broader social and political themes rather than any prophetic insight.

Time travel theories emerge

Among the more outlandish ideas is the suggestion that Donald Trump is a time traveler. This theory points to Trump’s late uncle, John G. Trump, a physicist who studied the papers of Nikola Tesla, the famed inventor known for his work on futuristic concepts. Proponents argue that Tesla’s alleged work on time travel technology could have influenced the Trump family.

While the connections between the novels and the Trump family make for compelling storytelling, experts caution against reading too much into the parallels. Literary scholars note that speculative fiction often mirrors societal anxieties and trends of its time. Nonetheless, the viral resurgence of these 19th-century books underscores the enduring fascination with conspiracy theories in the age of social media.
