Sources Reveal Ambitious Agenda Including Border, Energy, and TikTok Policies

President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to declare a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border immediately after taking the oath of office Monday, according to a Wall Street Journal report that has sent shockwaves through Washington.

Unprecedented day-long signing marathon planned

The border emergency declaration is just one of approximately 50 executive orders Trump plans to sign in a carefully choreographed series of events spanning his inauguration day. According to an insider familiar with the arrangements, the signing ceremonies will begin at the Capitol Rotunda during the swearing-in ceremony, continue at a watch party in Capital One Arena, and conclude at the White House.

TikTok ban reversal among key priorities

In a surprising development, Trump’s day-one agenda includes addressing the federal TikTok ban. The social media platform, which had temporarily suspended its services, resumed operations following Trump’s announcement on TruthSocial where he pledged to “save TikTok.” Congressional leaders are closely monitoring this situation.

A major component of Trump’s executive actions is a comprehensive 35-page energy proposal that aims to:

• Expand drilling in the National Arctic Wildlife Refuge
• Advance energy pipeline projects
• Support coal and natural gas industries
• Roll back Biden Administration renewable energy initiatives

Federal workforce and DEI policy changes

Multiple sources indicate that Trump’s team is targeting significant changes to federal workplace policies, including:

• Elimination of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
• Removal procedures for “insubordinate” federal employees
• Reversal of COVID-era remote work policies

Preparation and implementation

Republican leadership received detailed briefings on Sunday regarding the executive orders, with draft copies already distributed to agency heads, indicating an aggressive timeline for implementation.

Analysis and implications

The scope and speed of these planned executive actions suggest a determined effort to rapidly reverse key Biden administration policies. The border emergency declaration, in particular, signals a return to Trump’s hardline immigration stance that defined his first term.

Policy experts note that while executive orders can be implemented quickly, they may face legal challenges and congressional scrutiny, particularly regarding the border emergency declaration and energy policy changes.

Market analysts are closely watching how these policy shifts, especially in the energy sector and regarding TikTok’s status, might impact various industries and market sectors.
