Mayor’s Facebook post adds fuel to drone hysteria

Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali’s recent Facebook post has added to the growing frenzy surrounding mysterious drones allegedly seen hovering across the East Coast. The mayor recounted an incident shared by a resident that has further stirred public paranoia about unidentified aerial activity.

“A highly respected, professional, and trustworthy Montvale resident informed me with 100 percent certainty that his son’s hobby drone attempted to follow one of the drones, and it was “drone-jacked,” Ghassali wrote in his now-viral Facebook post.

“He lost total control of his drone, and it went disappearing into the air. It seems these are very sophisticated drones with counter offensive systems.”

East Coast residents report strange sightings

The mayor’s post comes on the heels of widespread reports of unexplained flashing lights and drones across East Coast skies. Social media has been flooded with accounts of similar sightings, fueling speculation about everything from UFOs to government experiments.

However, Ghassali’s anecdotal evidence drew mixed reactions. While some appreciated the mayor bringing attention to the issue, others were quick to criticize the lack of concrete proof behind his claims.

“Although I appreciate you bringing attention to this issue, I do think you need to stay with facts, not third-hand rumors without proof,” one user commented on his post. Another added, “How do we get this in front of the congressmen and senators of the state so they can get answers from the FBI?”

Drone ban intensifies debate

In response to the growing concerns, Mayor Ghassali recently enacted a ban on drones in Montvale, citing the public’s rising anxiety. The move has done little to ease tensions, as New Jersey authorities confirmed that many drones flying over the state are tied to illegal activities, including drug smuggling into prisons.

Critics of the mayor’s handling of the situation voiced their frustrations online, accusing him of stoking fear rather than addressing the issue constructively. “So a nameless person with an alleged son with an alleged drone claims it was allegedly ‘drone-jacked’? Please stop with the fear-mongering and be more responsible,” another user wrote.

Authorities stay tight-lipped

Despite the public outcry, federal and local authorities have provided limited information about the drone sightings. While some reports have been addressed, the majority remain unexplained, leaving residents to speculate about their origin and purpose.

The drone hysteria has even sparked theories linking the sightings to UFO activity or covert government operations. Investigators and experts have called for greater transparency from officials to dispel rumors and provide clarity.

Growing demand for answers

As the paranoia spreads, so does the demand for action. Residents and online communities have urged lawmakers to pressure federal agencies, including the FBI and FAA, for more comprehensive answers.

For now, the skies over New Jersey remain a source of mystery, and Mayor Ghassali’s Facebook post has only deepened the intrigue. Whether these drones are a threat, a misunderstanding, or something more otherworldly, one thing is clear: the public wants answers, and they want them now.
