Law enforcement sources revealed Monday that investigators are questioning a man in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in connection with the shocking murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The suspect has drawn significant attention from investigators primarily due to possessing a firearm similar to the weapon used in Thompson’s murder, according to two law enforcement sources speaking to NBC News.
Thompson was brutally assassinated last Wednesday morning in a brazen attack outside the New York Hilton Midtown. Surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when a masked assailant approached the executive from behind and opened fire around 6:45 a.m. The suspect reportedly fled on foot and then escaped by bicycle into Central Park.
