YouTuber LeafyIsHere trolled for resemblance to UnitedHealthcare CEO’s killer

The New York Police Department’s recent release of photos of the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has generated significant buzz online.

Social media users were quick to point out an uncanny resemblance between the masked suspect and former YouTuber LeafyIsHere, sparking a mix of humor and speculation.

“The UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin suspect has been identified as former YouTuber LeafyIsHere,” one user joked on X, tagging the NYPD. Another chimed in, “The only thing LeafyIsHere has murdered lately is a double cheeseburger.”

These comments follow the NYPD’s ongoing investigation into Thompson’s high-profile killing. The department has not confirmed any connection between the suspect and the YouTuber, and the claims remain firmly in the realm of internet humor.

Who Is LeafyIsHere?

LeafyIsHere, born Calvin Lee Vail, is a former YouTube personality renowned for his sharp and satirical commentary videos. Rising to fame in the early 2010s, Leafy amassed millions of subscribers with content that critiqued other internet personalities. However, his controversial approach often drew accusations of cyberbullying and harassment.

In 2020, YouTube permanently banned his channel for violating harassment policies, effectively ending his mainstream online presence. Since then, Leafy has largely avoided public platforms, occasionally resurfacing on smaller outlets in attempts to rekindle his career.

While the online jokes highlight the enduring presence of LeafyIsHere in internet culture, the NYPD’s investigation remains focused on identifying and apprehending the actual suspect in Thompson’s murder. The case has attracted widespread attention, and social media’s role in shaping the narrative underscores the growing interplay between digital culture and real-world events.
