Students who struggle with mathematics, especially geometry, often have reduced activity in the parietal region of the brain, which is associated with spatial reasoning, as shown by neuroimaging studies. These deficits in spatial perception and imagination not only affect performance in geometry but also extend to subjects like algebra, physics, and chemistry.
