Melania Trump Defends Nude Modeling Career Ahead of Memoir Release

New York, NY – Former First Lady Melania Trump has returned to the public eye as she promotes her forthcoming memoir, set to be released on October 8. As part of her promotional campaign, Melania addressed her past as a model, including her decision to pose for nude photos, a topic that has sparked significant media attention throughout her career.

Embracing the human form

In a video released on Wednesday, Melania defended her modeling career, particularly the nude photo shoots, while drawing parallels to historical depictions of the human form in art. The former First Lady narrated the video against the backdrop of some of the world’s most renowned artworks, including Paul Cezanne’s Les Grandes Baigneuses, John Collier’s Lady Godiva, and a statue of Eve by Jean-Alexandre-Joseph Falguière. The video also features Michelangelo’s iconic statue of David.

“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?” she asked in a voiceover.

However, “the more pressing question”, according to Trump’s wife is “why has the media chosen to scrutinise my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?”

Melania went on to advocate for the recognition of the beauty of the human body, declaring, “We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”

A legacy in art and fashion

Throughout the video, Melania argued that the human form has long been revered by master artists, evoking admiration and strong emotions. She called on viewers to respect their bodies and uphold the tradition of using art to communicate deeper meanings. The former model positioned her work within this legacy, framing it as an extension of an artistic tradition that celebrates the human div.

Responses to the video on social media were supportive. One Instagram follower commented, “You are a beautiful woman ❤️,” while another wrote, “You are beautiful inside and out.”

Setting the record straight

At the end of the video, Melania revealed the cover of her memoir, promising that the book would set the record straight regarding the criticism she has faced. According to the former First Lady, the memoir will reveal the full truth about her personal and professional life, which has often been the subject of intense scrutiny.

Her 2000 GQ magazine cover, in which she posed nude aboard a jet owned by Donald Trump, resurfaced during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. At the time, then-candidate Donald Trump defended his wife, stating, “This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to me knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.”

Melania’s memoir is expected to provide more insight into her experiences, both as a model and as the wife of one of the most controversial divs in modern American politics. As she reclaims the narrative surrounding her life and career, her memoir promises to be a significant moment in her public reemergence.
