Binningen, Switzerland In a horrifying turn of events, a former Miss Switzerland finalist met a tragic and gruesome end at the hands of her husband. Kristina Joksimovic, 38, was allegedly strangled, dismembered, and “pureed” in a blender by her spouse, in a crime that has shocked the nation.

The shocking discovery

The remains of Kristina Joksimovic were discovered in February in the quiet town of Binningen, near Basel. Investigations revealed that Kristina had been strangled before her body was mutilated. Local authorities quickly zeroed in on her husband, who has been identified by the pseudonym “Thomas.”

A chilling confession

Thomas has confessed to the murder. His plea for release from custody was denied by the Federal Court in Lausanne on Wednesday. Reports indicate that the investigation has found “concrete indications of mental illness” in Thomas, who claimed he killed Kristina in self-defense after she allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Forensic evidence contradicts self-defense claims

Despite Thomas’s claims, a medical-forensic report from Swiss outlet FM1 Today contradicts his description of self-defense. The autopsy detailed the brutal dismemberment of Kristina’s body, revealing that Thomas used a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears in the attack. After dismembering her, he used a hand blender to “puree” the remains and dissolved the body parts in a chemical solution, as reported by local outlet Blick.

Investigators have described Thomas as “cold-blooded” and lacking “empathy” in his efforts to cover up the murder. They also noted that he exhibited “sadistic-sociopathic traits.”

A troubled marriage

Kristina’s remains were discovered by a “third party,” leading to Thomas’s arrest the following day. The couple, who married in 2017, appeared to live an affluent life in a “spacious semi-detached house,” as reported by 20 Minuten. They frequently vacationed together, with Kristina posting pictures of a getaway on Instagram just four weeks before her death.

However, friends and acquaintances have reported that the couple’s relationship had been “in crisis for months.” There were even instances where police were called due to reports of physical violence, according to sources.

This tragic case has not only left a community in shock but also raised questions about the signs of domestic violence that may have been overlooked. As the investigation continues, the grim details of Kristina Joksimovic’s final moments serve as a stark reminder of the potential horrors lurking behind closed doors.
