What happened in the Compass–Anywhere Real Estate merger?

In one of the biggest shake-ups in U.S. real estate brokerage, Compass announced that it will acquire Anywhere Real Estate—the parent company of Coldwell Banker and Century 21—in an all-stock transaction valued at about $10 billion.
