The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is asking for the public’s help in locating Stephen Thomas Marek, a 32-year-old man who has been missing from northwest Bakersfield, California, since August 23.

Marek, who has autism, is considered a high-risk missing person, according to KCSO and local outlet KGET. He was last seen leaving his home on foot near Blue Tail Lane and Quail Creek Road.

Relatives and community members have been using social media to spread the word and keep Marek’s case in public view.

Sarah Canton, Marek’s cousin, urged people on Facebook to keep sharing his photo and details:
