Authorities and family members are urgently searching for Sandra Hall, an 80-year-old former member of the legendary vocal group The Platters, who has been missing for four days after boarding a subway train in Brooklyn.

Last known movements of Sandra Hall

Hall, who suffers from dementia and can become disoriented, was last seen around 4 p.m. on Friday near Atlantic Avenue by the Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal Mall, according to the NYPD and relatives.

Her family says she boarded the 2 train heading Uptown, and there is now a possible sighting of her in the Bronx.

“Sandra is more than just our mother; she is a warm, vibrant woman who once brought joy to audiences as part of The Platters,” her daughter, Star DaSilva, told reporters. “We just want to bring her home safely.”

Possible Bronx sighting

DaSilva shared on Facebook that a credible tip suggested Hall may have been spotted in the Bronx.

“It checks out because she hopped on the 2 train going Uptown,” she wrote. “The person with the tip provided an accurate description, so I’m feeling confident about it.”

Sandra Hall’s legacy with The Platters

The Platters, formed in 1952, became one of the most successful vocal groups of the 1950s and early ’60s, with hits like Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Only You, and The Great Pretender.

Hall joined the group in 1965 under the stage name Sandra Dawn, during a brief chart resurgence in the mid-1960s. Over the years, the group went through multiple lineup changes and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Herb Reed, the last original member, died in 2012.
