Viral Fame, Without Consent

The social media div “Babydoll Archi” gained massive attention after appearing in provocative videos, most notably dancing in a red saree to a Romanian track, Dame Un Grr, and appearing in a photo alongside American adult film actress Kendra Lust. These posts sent her following skyrocketing, securing her a verified blue tick on Instagram.

But the real woman behind the face had no idea about her online presence. Archita Phukan, a married woman living in Dibrugarh, India, was shocked to learn that her identity had been appropriated for a persona she had never created. She was not even active on social media.

Authorities say Bora monetized the account heavily. He had posted at least 282 times and reportedly earned around ₹10 lakh through subscriptions and paid content hosted via platforms like Linktree. The page underwent multiple name changes, the latest being “Amira Ishtara.”

Police Crackdown and Digital Evidence

On July 11, Phukan’s family presented the case to police, supported by screenshots and images from the account. Bora was arrested a day later, on July 12. Police confiscated several laptops, mobile devices, hard drives, and financial documents. According to Officer Agarwal, Bora had also created multiple Gmail accounts and social media aliases and managed at least 3,000 subscriptions across fake profiles.

“He weaponized AI to create content that not only humiliated the victim but also manipulated the audience into believing the persona was real,” Agarwal said.
